I'm back! It's been a month, I know. The LA storms etcetera etcetera etcetera...

The weather has taken a 180 degree turn (although I know this isn't the end of the Southern California climate mayhem), nonetheless I feel refreshed and recharged and relieved. As does everyone in Los Angeles, I'm sure. It's over 75 degrees! I feel as if I've come out of mourning and can stop wearing head to toe black. (Sidenote: I can't actually because I wear head to toe black for work 3 days a week but, alas...)

This season, I'm thinking contrasts: black overalls with delicate puffy sleeved blouses, short ruffled dresses and loafers, pale linen and statement earrings, and white cotton dresses with retro sneakers. There will be statement sleeves of the puffy variety and things with ruffles and roomy blouses with ribbons and ties in abundance.

Also, however, I think we'll be seeing a lot of vintage white denim - in co-ords (white denim culottes avec white denim jacket) and in head-to-toe white outfits (pair vintage white Levi's with a white t-shirt or pair knee-length cut-offs with a puffy white off-the-shoulder number).

Not to be forgotten, the every-practical basket hand bag - they also (mercifully) go great with an all-black outfit. And if it gets cold again, just throw on a pair of black tights under it all!
